The British Infection Society formally merged with the Association of Medical Microbiologists to form a new society of over 1400 members. It is also keen to support trainees in the infection specialties, and furthering research in infection.

The UK Sepsis Trust

The Lee Spark Foundation is proud to be working with the The UK Sepsis Trust. This Trust (registered charity no. 1146234) aims to save an additional 12,500 lives every year in the UK from sepsis, a condition which arises when the body’s response to an infection, including NF, damages its own tissues and organs. Frighteningly common, this little-known killer can strike anyone irrespective of their age or health. The Trust is campaigning to ensure that the things which make the biggest difference – antibiotics, fluids and control of infection source – are done every time.
