We’re so excited to share that Robin Grant is running again! He’s already completed the Balmoral 10k in April, and now he’s taking on the great Aberdeen half marathon in August and then the River Ness 10k in October. Not only that but he also hopes to add a few more through the year. Absolutely brilliant!
Robin fell ill in late August 2014 and was eventually diagnosed with necrotising fasciitis. He spent 2 weeks in ICU in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, mostly on a ventilator, and when he finally woke up he learned that he had lost all the muscle from the right hand side of his chest and shoulder. Thanks to his dedicated surgeon, he was fortunate and didn’t lose his arm.
With amazing determination, Robin got back on his feet and set his mind of changing the world, starting with running and fundraising for The Lee Spark Foundation. His first run was completed just 6 months after leaving hospital! He also completed the Leeds 10k in 2016, raising money and awareness for our charity.
We’d like to say a huge ‘Thank You’!! on behalf of all of us here at The Lee Spark Foundation.
