On Sunday 25th November Liam Rodney and Harry Curbishley took on the Fan Dance Challenge which is a 15 mile treck over over the Pen-Y- Fann and back which is located within the Brecon Beacons. this is used by the SAS as a final test for the recruits to navigate in harsh conditions and environment. They also carried 25kg backpacks.
They wanted to compete in this challenge in memory of Paul ” Slim ” Davies and to raise money and awareness for The Lee Spark NF Foundation who help to support families who have lost loved ones, survivors and people suffering with necrotising fasciitis which is what Paul passed away from on the 14th Dec 2012.
They are also raising money for Help the Heroes which is a charity that helps support veterens and service men and women who have been wounded . injured or become sick through the line of duty. The SAS compete this course in 4-6 hours depending on the weather conditions. Liam and Harry finished in 4 hours 58 mins which is an amazing achievement.
